Ledger Nano Gen5 hardware wallet

A hardware wallet that keeps your private keys on a dedicated device rather than on an internet-connected computer.

Ledger Nano Gen5 hardware wallet

What it does

A hardware wallet stores your private keys on a dedicated device and signs transactions there, so the keys are never exposed to your computer or browser. If the machine you use every day is compromised, the keys are still out of reach.

What it does not do

It protects keys, not value. A hardware wallet does nothing about the price of anything you hold, and it cannot undo a transaction you approved yourself. Most losses come from approving something malicious, not from key theft.

Recovery phrase

The device is only as safe as its recovery phrase. Anyone who has that phrase has the funds, wherever the device is. Write it down, keep it off any machine, and never type it into a website or app.

Not financial advice. A hardware wallet or a book is a purchase, not an investment recommendation. DeFi involves significant risk and you can lose everything you put in.
