Ledger Flex hardware wallet

Ledger's mid-range touchscreen signer: a 2.8-inch E Ink screen, Bluetooth and a battery, with a Ledger Recovery Key in the box. Around £229 on Amazon UK.

Ledger Flex hardware wallet

The Ledger Flex sits between the button-based Nano models and the premium Stax. For around £229 on Amazon UK (October 2026) you get a 2.8-inch E Ink touchscreen (800 x 600), Bluetooth, a battery and a Ledger Recovery Key in the box. The bigger screen is the point: you can read a whole address and the transaction details at once, rather than scrolling through them on a tiny display.

It is sold by Ledger itself on Amazon, rated 4.5 stars from around 590 reviews.

What it does well

  • Clear transaction checks. The large screen shows what you are signing in readable form (Ledger calls this Clear Signing), so it is much easier to spot a swapped address or an unexpected approval than on a 1.1-inch screen.
  • E Ink display. Like an e-reader, the screen is easy to read and keeps showing its last image without using power.
  • Keys stay offline. Private keys live in a Secure Element chip and never leave the device. Bluetooth only carries transactions to be signed.
  • Recovery Key included. The box includes a Ledger Recovery Key, a PIN-protected card that stores an offline backup of your wallet alongside the usual recovery phrase.
  • Works with phone and desktop. Bluetooth and a battery make it usable with the Ledger app on a phone as well as a computer.

Things to know before buying

  • It costs four times the Nano S Plus. If you rarely sign transactions, the Nano S Plus at £52 protects your keys just as well. The Flex is worth it if you sign often and want to read every transaction comfortably.
  • It is larger and heavier than the Nano models (65 g), so it is less of a keyring device.
  • Your recovery phrase still matters. The Recovery Key is an extra backup, not a replacement. Keep your 24 words offline, never photograph them and never type them into a website. A steel backup such as the Trezor Keep Metal works with Ledger's standard 24-word phrase.
  • You only need it as a signer. The Ledger app and listing promote earning rewards, buying and swapping. None of that is needed to keep your keys safe, and it is not what we recommend the device for.

Which version?

The Flex comes in several colours on Amazon UK, all £229 in October 2026: Oxidate Green (the one linked here), Graphite Grey, Neptune Blue, Crimson Magenta and Ferro Fuschia. There is also a Bitcoin Edition (B0FD3B5MSW) at the same price. The hardware is the same in every version, so choose on colour, or the Bitcoin Edition if bitcoin is all you hold.
