Ledger Stax hardware wallet

Ledger's premium signer: a 3.7-inch curved E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth and a battery, sold with a Ledger Recovery Key. Around £369 on Amazon UK.

Ledger Stax hardware wallet

The Ledger Stax is Ledger's top model. At around £369 on Amazon UK (October 2026) it is a credit-card-sized device with a 3.7-inch curved E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth and a battery, sold with a Ledger Recovery Key. It does the same core job as every Ledger, keeping your private keys offline and making you approve each transaction on the device, but on the biggest and easiest-to-read screen in the range.

It is sold by Ledger itself on Amazon, rated 4.4 stars from a smaller number of reviews (around 60) than the cheaper models.

What it does well

  • The easiest screen to check. The 3.7-inch curved E Ink touchscreen shows full addresses and transaction details clearly, so checking what you are signing (Ledger's Clear Signing) is quick and hard to get wrong.
  • Keys stay offline. Private keys live in a Secure Element chip and never leave the device. Bluetooth only carries transactions to be signed.
  • Recovery Key in the box. The Amazon listing includes a Ledger Recovery Key, a PIN-protected card holding an offline backup, alongside the usual recovery phrase.
  • Works with phone and desktop, using Bluetooth and its built-in battery.

Things to know before buying

  • You are paying for the screen and design. The security model is the same as the Nano S Plus at £52. The Stax makes checking transactions more comfortable; it does not make your keys safer.
  • The Flex covers most of the same ground for less. The Ledger Flex has a 2.8-inch E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth and a Recovery Key for £229.
  • Ignore the crypto voucher on the listing. The Amazon listing advertises a crypto reward you claim after purchase through a third-party promotion. It is not in the box and is not a reason to choose this device.
  • Your recovery phrase still matters. Keep your 24 words offline, never photograph them and never type them into a website. A steel backup such as the Trezor Keep Metal works with Ledger's standard 24-word phrase.
  • You only need it as a signer. The Ledger app offers buying, swapping and staking. None of that is needed to keep your keys safe, and it is not what we recommend the device for.

Which version?

Amazon UK sells one version, Graphite with a Ledger Recovery Key (B0FCZQ8FTV, £369 in October 2026). The box it ships in weighs about 281 g.
